This installation comprises sixteen video works and sixteen photographic prints.
Each video records the act of wiping graffiti from urban walls and surfaces with a white cloth. Filmed at sixteen different sites, the footage is presented across an equal number of monitors, creating a dispersed yet interconnected visual field.
The accompanying photographs capture the cloths used in the videos, their surfaces saturated with spray paint stains. Onto these prints, the artist has physically rubbed the image surface with an eraser, the resulting eraser dust retained and displayed alongside the works.
The project reflects on a paradox of urban maintenance: the erasure of graffiti often produces a sharp contrast with its surroundings, inadvertently accentuating the very spot where the mark once was. In this way, the act of “erasing” becomes simultaneously an act of “marking.” By foregrounding this contradiction, the work invites us to reconsider the ways in which the city preserves, conceals, and inadvertently reveals its own traces.

本作は、16点の映像と写真から構成される。映像には、都市の壁面などに描かれたグラフィティを白い布で拭き取る行為が記録されている。撮影は16箇所で行われ、それぞれの映像は対応する16台のモニターに映し出される。
写真には、映像内で使用された布が写されており、スプレー塗料の汚れが染みついている。その痕跡に対して、さらに写真表面を消しゴムでこする行為を重ね、削り取られた消しカスも作品の一部として展示している。
グラフィティが拭き取られた壁面は、かえって周囲とのコントラストを際立たせ、かつてそこに汚れがあったことを強調してしまう。本作は、汚れを「消す」ことが同時に「痕跡を残す」ことにもなりうるという逆説に着目し、この矛盾を内包する都市のあり方を可視化しようとしている。
